Rest hasn’t always come naturally to me, and truthfully, I still feel the pull to do more. I am a very ambitious being, and my drive to keep pushing, creating, and achieving is part of who I am. The difference now is expanded awareness. I tune into my needs more deeply and have learned to balance and navigate these energies with greater ease.

I no longer resist rest or see it as a sign of slowing down. I honor it as an essential part of my flow. When I feel drained, I pause—not because I’m done, but because I choose to care for myself so I can keep moving forward.

Here’s how I integrate intentional rest into my daily life:

  • Morning stillness: I start my day with slow, intentional stretches and a glass of water to reconnect with my body and prepare for the day ahead.
  • Mindful movement: I practice slow stretching during my morning and evening body scans, allowing myself to breathe deeply and reset with intention.
  • Digital disconnect: I step away from technology during intentional times, especially when my focus feels scattered or overstimulated.
  • Reflective evenings: I end my day by checking in with myself—what worked, what didn’t, and how I feel—without judgment or urgency.

Ambition and rest work together. They don’t have to compete. I’ve learned that rest doesn’t take away from my drive; it fuels it.
